Rating: - Pleasantly surprised
My son went to Ghana, West Africa to work with the Peace Corps for two years, and he left me a large box of books to ship to him. Rating: - A Life Changing Device
Plenty has already been said here about the Kindle. I'll just add that this device has changed my life (and also mention a couple of criticisms).

Rating: - Seeing is Believing
I have been looking at this for my son. He loves electronic gadgets but doesn't get in enough reading. His 13th birthday was coming up so we bought him one. He has to read books for his LA grade each quarter and it is always cramming them in at the last minute. This quarter he was done at the mid-term. We are impressed!

Rating: - cover/battery
On the whole, I have been very happy with the Kindle product. There have been a few fustrations. 1. The battery cover is not very secure. It has loosen twice in three weeks. 2. The more that is downloaded, the slower the unit becomes. and 3. The unit is not very secure in the cover provided. The tabs used to hold the unit in place are not very good
